Hey guys! Wilderness Culture ambassadors, @the_outbound_life back again for our weekly series, #outboundthinking.

This image was taken in Ouray, Colorado this past January during our first time ice climbing. We weren’t always “adventure junkies”. In fact there was a time when looking at an image like this alone would have given us sweaty palms. Here’s a major key we’ve learned as we’ve pushed past our limits these past years. Do whatever it takes to surround yourself with people who pull the BEST out of you. I’m not encouraging stupidity, or attempting anything that isn’t calculated. Whenever we’ve taken on a new endeavor such as backcountry ski touring, trad, or sport climbing, we’ve gone with people far more experienced with us who could lead the way safely. This calculated area of discomfort is where you want to live. By remaining in your comfort zone, you will have lived your life only to end up with the ultimate poison - regret.
